TOO HOT TO BREATHE
New York television news writer/reporter Michael Carpo escapes a Manhattan heat wave for a getaway at the rustic Connecticut home of fellow writer Jack Crawford. Carpo's vacation plans sour when he arrives to discover his friend dead in a spreading pool of blood, an apparent suicide.
Too many unanswered questions lead Carpo to the grim conclusion that Jack was murdered, despite the open-and-shut attitude of town officials. When he uncovers information on several other suspicious deaths in the past few years, he searches for the common thread. Another "accident" occurs, the victim a woman he spoke with only hours before she was found floating in a lake. When Carpo uncovers the decades-old secret at the heart of the mystery, he comes to the chilling realization that someone in this idyllic community is getting away with murder....
