Amanda is fit to be tied. Torrential rains have turned the town of Vamoose into a mud capital of Oklahoma, and County Commissioner Brown has washed his hands of the whole dirty mess. But Amanda, along with her fiance, Chief of Police Nick Thorn, is convinced--poetic justice notwithstanding--that it's a case of cold-blooded murder. Especially considering Brown's colorful roster of enemies, including one mud-slinging political rival and a particularly vindictive ex-wife.
