Modestly born, she was charmed to be the wife of Sir Darnley Blood - and mistress of their castle overlooking the sea in the Scottish Highlands. But she was not so charmed by his gay divorcee friend, Georgie, and she couldn't quite figure out Georgie's brother, the painter Jamie, either.
Darnley had not told Wendy that his own brother had died rather recently...in a sailing accident. Or that Darnley's former wife was still very much alive.
