Nightmare In The Morning
Karla Martin Lonborg awoke to insanity, to a world gone completely mad. The body she wore seemed to be adjusted to this world, to know its way about-but her mind rejected what her body so readily accepted. It seemed that her mind was a prisoner in the body...a prisoner under sentence for a crime she could not remember.
There was evil here, in this house of strangers and in this man she did not know who insisted that he was her husband. A dark evil, called from ancient times and living on ancient forces...and demanding a human sacrifice! Karla was trapped, with no way out. They had robbed her of her memory, and now they wanted her soul!
I DON'T KNOW YOU!
I searched the room for some sign of familiarity, but it was all strange…all frightening.
No…Pixie was there. The little gray miniature Schnauzer was a welcome note of friendship. I knew Pixie, and our love was mutual.
But -- who was I?
Who was this tall man before me?
And what was he?
The stranger was understanding. “Don't you remember?” he said sadly. “I'm David Lonborg and you're Karla Martin Lonborg. We've been married for two years…and we're very happy.
Happy? How could I be happy with this man I had never before met? I felt a scream gathering at the back of my throat.
I don't know you!
