Raina Wade just happens to be in the wrong place, at the wrong time. She witnesses a horrific crime. Escaping the scene unscathed, she heads to the nearest police station and reports the crime. To her surprise, her detailed description of the killer, Pierce, is well-known to the Pittsburgh P.D....problem is, no one has ever really seen him, until now. Keeping Raina safe is the PPD's priority. Raina is not unfamiliar with police. Her father is the former Chief of Police and he calls in a favor. He wants Raina escorted to him, in Seattle, WA.

Nick Laprelli's superiors think he's just the detective for the job. Nick doesn't think so. The minute he mistakes Raina for a hooker in the police station, sparks fly ... as does her temper, followed by her immediate dislike for him and vice versa. What ensues is a cross country trip where Nick and Raina dip and dodge to stay one-step ahead of the killer who is hot on their trail.

Crossing the Line, explores the tense relationship between Raina Wade and Nick Laprelli. Two days spent cloistered in Nick's farmhouse, and a detour in Sin City pushes the boundaries and brings out undeniable feelings that have developed between them during their journey. With a serial killer in pursuit, hot on the trail of the only witness who can identify him, Raina and Nick must stay focused and a few steps ahead if they plan on making it to Seattle alive.

Nick's mission is clear: to get the beautiful and feisty Raina there safely, even if he has to downplay his desires and keep some vital information away from her. It's been his job for 11 years to protect the innocent. But in between glances and an almost kiss, their relationship is becoming more than a professional courtesy.

Raina's growing feelings for Nick presents an obstacle and distraction, besides, she doesn't date White guys. She never has and never will ... Or would she?

Crossing the Line has many twists and turns as the characters encounter everything from misguided bigotry, outwitting a cunning murderer, to Raina's directionally challenged detour, thus getting them lost along the way.
