Even though Kaybee Keeper comes to school in a wild dress with tiny fishes and bubbles on it, Jeff Moody thinks the other kids are creeps for laughing at her. But, day by day, Kaybee gets weirder and weirder. Soon Jeff just has to know what makes her act that way. So he spies on her and keeps notes, until he thinks he's discovered why Kaybee is so strange: she's on a secret mission from outer space.

Jeff's brainy friend Gwendolyn Sharp thinks the idea is stupid, and that Jeff is asking for big trouble. Dave and Mack and all Jeff's other friends won't hang around him anymore because they think he's crazy. But Jeff won't change his mind. He is going to prove that Kaybee is an alien if it's the last thing he does! But there's only one problem: What if he's right?
