Conflict of Purpose — Jeff Inlo

The Sword of Decree reveals three tragic visions of the future to Ryson Acumen. Realizing he needs to prevent several potential disasters, Ryson begins his quest to learn more about the blade's origin and the power of its enchantment. His search for answers leads the delver to the elf camp in Dark Spruce Forest as well as the underground dwarf city of Dunop.

As the delver attempts to discover the secrets of the sword, he is unaware that an old adversary seeks vengeance against him. A devious plan unfolds and a series of tragic events threaten to leave Ryson's life in disarray. The delver, unaware of his pursuer, is consumed with the seemingly impossible task of avoiding the prophetic events revealed to him by the Sword of Decree. Ryson recruits the help of two powerful magic casters in order to unravel the mysteries behind the blade's enchantment. The delver and his companions travel to the elf camp in Dark Spruce Forest, but they are immediately met with resistance when they question the validity of elflore. Their difficulties increase when they speak with the dwarf queen in Dunop and discover the city is under siege by an unknown force.

As he struggles against old foes and new enemies, Ryson finally begins to understand the influence within the Sword of Decree. He realizes he must accept the challenges placed before him even as they offer potential pain and suffering. Fate will not allow the delver to escape his purpose and hopefully overcome the dangers threatening the land.
