Everybody makes mistakes, and my first one was named Connor, a heart-stealing Scottish hottie. I thought our night together was the beautiful beginning to a love story, which turned out to be my second mistake. I, Phoebe Allen, lifelong Broken Heart resident and vampire, am now mated to a half demon.

Connor needs me to retrieve the rest of an ancient talisman to stave off his vicious stepmother, an Uberdemon named Lilith. Thank goodness my four-year-old son, Danny, is off at Disney World with his human father. At least he is safe and far away from all this paranormal drama. Me? Not so much. I'll help Connor and his ragtag group of friends because it's the right thing to do -- and not because I'm falling for any of his demon charm. Still, Connor's willing to do anything to protect me and prevent demons from storming into Broken Heart. My undead heart can't resist a bad boy with identity issues.
