Colorado Range War — Howard Pelham

After escaping the destructive path of Well, the malicious landowner, Walt returns home to reclaim what had been taken from his family. Once there he plots revenge for the death of his father, who was murdered at the hand of Wells. However, Wells is one step ahead of him and within days of returning, Walt narrowly escapes being gunned down while sleeping. Much to his dismay many men loyal to his cause are also ambushed and killed.

Refusing to give up but recognizing the need for survival, Walt goes into hiding at a reclusive valley nearby. While there, he discovers a gold streak and once returning back to Prentiss, uses this money to repurchase his family's land and build a ranch.
