Code Zero — Larry Lavoie

After the United States suffers devastating losses in the Battle of the Coral Sea, it is evident that a new carrier based aircraft is needed, but it is suspected Japan is stealing our aircraft designs before our new planes are even in production. In an intercepted message Naval Intelligence learns there is one of the latest A6M Zeros undergoing tests on the recently occupied island of Attu, at the extreme tip of the Aleutian Islands, over a thousand miles out in the Bearing Sea. Gaston Carson is called back to Washington for a Top Secret assignment. He must capture the latest version of a A6M Zero and deliver it to the United States for testing. Timing is critical. American and Canadian forces are about to launch a campaign to recover Attu Island from the Japanese occupiers and in the bombing raids any chance of capturing the Zero will be lost. Facing impossible odds, Gaston Carson must find a way to steal the Zero from the Japanese forces. There is no way the Japanese are going to let this plane go without a fight.
