They are drawn together like flies to potato salad baking under the hot Texas sun. Yet because of something dark and nefarious, they are forced to fight their mutual attraction, because that's what romance characters do during at least one hundred pages of word foreplay, so when they finally tumble into each other's arms, giving each other no less than ten orgasms apiece, the reader has sufficient reason to dust off her vibrator while her husband snores on the sofa.
