The holiday season is approaching. Polik and Nika, like all the children in their Inuit village, are filled with excitement over the delivery of their Christmas tree and the anticipation of Santa's arrival. But, the grown-ups of Akilineq have much more on their minds.

The oil company that has set up operation in the Great North is taking over their small community and destroying the land and wildlife, robbing this simple village of the natural resources it relies on for survival. Even Polik and Nika are noticing the effect this invasion is having on the environment.

When the oil company begins drilling in the wrong place, a chain of events is set in motion, which threatens the life of their grandfather Ikkuma and the safety of the seen and unseen. In order to save Ikkuma, the children embark on an exciting, albeit treacherous journey that leads them into a magical underground world they never knew existed directly below them.

In the gigantic network of ice tunnels, hundreds of elves live and work alongside Santa preparing for the biggest day of their year. But, recent activity above has threatened their way of life. During their quest, Polik, Nika, and their dog Pakak stumble upon these fabulous ice caverns where Santa makes and stores Christmas gifts and end up uncovering the solution to their problem.

Along with the elves, Santa, and a few other unexpected helpers, the children will race against time to reverse the damage done to both worlds and find a way to save their grandfather and Christmas!
