Florence Crannell Means (1891-1980) was an American author. She wrote multicultural children's books and espoused a message of racial equality. The Moved-Outers (1945) was a Newberry Honor Book, and Knock At The Door, Emmy (1956) was a Nanch Bloch Award Book. She also wrote Reach For A Star (1957), Peter of the Mesa (1944) and others.
