After returning from the Queen Mary 2's World Cruise, Detective Inspector Rebecca Castle has to accept that her poor health will prevent her from working for CTC again and she is left with the choice of a desk job or an instructor's position at the Peel Centre in Hendon. Seriously staring forced retirement in the face, her life is suddenly changed by Colonel Geoffrey Jackson.
