Jack Fontaine broke horses for a living. Raised with his mother's Blackfeet tribe, after his white father mysteriously disappeared, he learned his horsemanship skills from them. Facing prejudice and hated for his Indian half he stayed on the move until he took a job breaking horses for the Clark Fork Cattle Company. It was on the Clark Fork that Jack Fontaine found the hatred he had come to expect. He also found unexpected friendship and the legacy his father had left for him.
