This is a clean and wholesome western romance set in Oregon in the late 1880's. It is the third book in the Mail Order Bride of Oregon series, The Orphanage Brides.
This is the story of Bridget and George. She wants a prince or a knight--some one who will fight for her. He assumes that she is his alone and that the marriage proposal is already in the bag.
Bridget becomes suspicious of George's intentions after reading several of his letters. When there is no hint of a marriage proposal, she considers other options. Maybe she should just find someone in Boston to marry. But then she considers that no one from a well-to-do family would marry the likes of her.
She decides to set out for Oregon on her own.
No waiting around for this girl!
George, the youngest of the Cowan brothers, desires a wife who is just like those of his brothers. His letters are full of flattery and flirtatious words--but no marriage proposal. He is confident that Bridgett is his alone--and that she wants only him. Afterall, she came to Oregon without being asked!
When Bridget meets George, she is immediately smitten--but George will have to prove himself as a worthy suitor.
There is plenty of conflict and twists and turns in this third book in the series of the Orphanage Brides.
