Bricks — Robert Clark

When Vincent's daughter Loretta found a six-foot-by-three-foot section of well-laid bricks under the dirt in the basement of their old Pennsylvania farmhouse, she convinced her father to help her pull them up. Hearing screams from the basement later that night, Vincent rushed down to see his struggling daughter being dragged beneath the seemingly living soil. He followed, only to be attacked by creatures resembling mythological ghouls. Vincent and Loretta found themselves trapped in an underground kingdom established thousands of years before by an alien who crash landed on earth. The alien, a master of science so advanced it seems like magic and driven insane by centuries of undeserved vilification, now believes himself to be Satan. Vincent's family has two choices: find and destroy Satan, or release the incredibly powerful and violently psychotic alien on the people of earth.
