SENIOR SLEUTH, HANDSOME GHOST, ORNERY CAT
Retiree Hetty Fox looked forward to moving to downstate Illinois. True, she's used to life in the big city, but how different can small-town life be? She's even bought a house built before the Civil War, complete with a widow's walk, and now lives only blocks away from her married daughter.
But Hetty didn't plan on having an apparition appear in her front parlor claiming to be the ghost of her college sweetheart. Nor did she foresee being a constant referee between the alleged ghost and her ornery cat. In fact, if a dead body hadn't turned up to distract her from the domestic turmoil, Hetty's not sure how well she would have made the adjustment to small-town life.
