Chicago. Hot, humid, summer Chicago. After the death of his daughter, Kike Villalobos is falling. Falling hard. His wife, gone. His job, slipping away. Life is a broken air conditioner, a bottle of Sol, and a hangover. Desperate, Kike seeks out the help of the local witch, La Incarnación. When La Incarnación turns Kike away, though, he loses hope. Until an old man named Isaías shows up at his door with a bone necklace and a promise of other gods. When Kike starts dreaming about his dead daughter, he realizes Isaías might indeed be able to bring her back. But the cost will be more than Kike thought. And not all the gods play fair.
