Nobody loves old bones -- and the stories that come with them -- as much as plucky genealogist Torie O'Shea. So when a drought in her historical Mississippi River town of New Kassel exposes the remains of a sunken riverboat, Torie is certain there are some fascinating skeletons hiding in that particular underwater closet.

Everybody in New Kassel has heard stories of the infamous sinking of The Phantom, though fewer knew about the rumors of a hidden cache of diamonds that went down with the riverboat. Unfortunately for one unlucky prospector -- a local community college professor who goes on a midnight search for the treasure -- that knowledge is deadly. Now, despite warnings from her stepfather, the sheriff, Torie starts doing what she does best, digging into the past. However, it is about to prove very dangerous to her future.
