BLACK FLAMES OF FIRE — Sheila Williams

Rebellious KATIE REED, a once high entity, is cast down into the lower pit of darkness, but by chance, escapes. Katie settles down in the small town of Brooksville, Mississippi working as a waitress at Charlie's Diner. There she meets and develops a sisterly friendship with Pauleen Davis Brown. One night on a date, Pauleen and her lover are attacked by a strange animal. He is mutilated and killed. Pauleen is taken to the hospital and diagnosed with amnesia. While visiting Pauleen at the hospital, Katie is struck by a familiar encounter, sparking a distressing alarm within her. She seeks out the Chief of Detectives, who assures her the case is a one-time freak incident. But, as the number of deaths grows so do Katie's dreading fears. When she learns the sheriff plans an early morning search with dogs in the woods, she senses this is where she must go. Nonetheless, Katie knows the encounter could mean her death, still, she must face the consequences.
