Small-town nurse.
Nurse Sherrin Page had one dream -- to return to the town of her childhood and serve the people she loved. When she heard there was a new hospital in River View she applied there for a job, sight unseen. She was shocked at what she found. The hospital was understaffed. Often she was faced with decisions which were properly a doctor's responsibility. Worst of all was the terrible tension of animosity. Why did the townspeople hate and mistrust the new hospital? Instinctively her sympathy went to Dr. Gilder, the young founder of the hospital. But she was stung by his coldness to her. Did he think she couldn't do the job? Or was it because her name was once linked with the man who now sought to destroy him?
