Dr. Anna Reed is a professor of mathematics. Recently she gave up her tenured position to get away from her cheating ex. In the interim, Anna has taken a job as a substitute teacher and a night job in collections at the telephone company. She thought her life had hit rock bottom until she has a vision of one of her students being murdered. Her well-guarded secret of being a psychic ends when she goes to the police. When she's not taken seriously, she puts herself in close proximity with the victim: she audits the books at a seedy theater where he works, she keeps a close eye on an ex-Bronco, and then when there is a murder as she described, she has to deal with a detective and twenty-four hour surveillance. Add to the mix a psychiatrist mother and a psychologist father, two gangster neighbors, and revivalist preacher and you have one hilarious read.
