Quinn Lewis, secretary to a young corporation executive, had been marking time until she could marry the man she loved. Then her employer, forced to pay the price for a costly administrative failure, was exiled to the West Coast, and insisted that he had to have Quinn, loyal and competent, in his new office.
So, she gave up her plans to resign, persuaded her fiance, Bob Parkinson, that she had obligations which had to be met, and pulled up stakes. In California, her immediate superior met young Ken Oxley, who dish company his firm was taking over, and at once prepared to ease him out of the company. Whereupon Quinn found herself torn between a desire to back up the man who had been kind to her and human compassion for a man whose career was in jeopardy
