Theatre Sister Jennet Carter was infuriated when she overheard Senior Cardiac Registrar Duncan Blair making derogatory remarks about his consultant. Knowing more about the difficulties their boss was suffering, Jennet was very protective of him.

Brought to accept that Duncan's remarks were made out of concern for the patients, Jennet nevertheless was wary of deepening her relationship with Duncan beyond the professional. Particularly when the basic situation showed no sign of being resolved.
