Austin Dailey traded two cows to a pair of Indians for a handsome bay horse, which subsequently disappeared. Tracks led to a secret hideout of fugitive Indians - and cattle thieves. Indians and stockmen cooperated against the rustlers, killing some by gunfire and hanging the others. But it was Pale Woman who acted as interpreter between her people and the rangemen. Dailey never saw her again - but to remind him of her, one morning he found her prized possession, the handsome bay horse, in the corral.
