Vancouver, Canada's jewel in the Pacific is regularly voted the most livable city in the world, and the brightest gem in Vancouver's crown is Stanley Park. So when someone murders a Native girl, leaving her body staked out in the park with a medicine card pinned to her breast, rumors of Native rituals have citizens up in arms. Homicide detective Mark Hansen calls on Native police liaison Jesse Dancer for help, and with the aid of a very beautiful coworker and a reclusive Shaman, Jesse vows to solve the crime before the sparks of racial tension already building over the murder explode into a community uprising.
