"Don't start falling for Doctor Jan," the staff warned Sister Christina when she arrived to nurse at the North-Eastern Hospital, Plasdorp, near the Drakensberg. The story was that on the eve of his wedding his fiancee had run off with another man, and ever since that day he had become coldly sarcastic at the slightest sign of feminine interest...
