Ash Wednesday and Thursday — Sally Smith

Susan was frustrated that her flight home after a tiring business trip had been delayed indefinitely, due to an ash cloud from a volcano in nearby Iceland. Accepting her fate and settling down to a lengthy wait in the airport she was shocked yet delighted when Rob appeared. Rob was her first boyfriend and they met at school. They were together for a number of years before splitting and both going on to marry other partners and have families. They had encountered each other on occasions such as school reunions and funerals but other than that they had lost contact. They spend the time reminiscing and catching up on family members and they quickly re-establish a connection. The next two days is spent revisiting their past in every way and are grateful for the stolen time as a result of the ash cloud.
