Army Nurse — Barbara Bonham

Lieutenant Constance Moorehead, Army Nurse, was stationed with the American Army Hospital at Randama in the Southeast Asian nation of Surbaco. Connie was a welcome touch of femininity and beauty in this strictly masculine environment of a small American force there to fight the spread of Communism.

Captain Niles Harmon had been at Randama only a month, but already it was evident to Connie that the quite surgeon with the calm gray eyes found her attractive -- and she, in turn, always felt a leap of the heart when she saw him unexpectedly.

Bo Duc, a waiter at the Officer's Club, had often waited on Connie, and it was easy for him to talk to her without being noticed. Bo Duc brought Connie a strange story. The Chinese grandmother whom she had thought dead was alive, Bo Duc told her. Go with him to the Communist guerrillas' hideout and nurse their wounded leader back to health, and her grandmother would be restored to her.
