A year ago, Ron Garroway was in the right place at the wrong time: searching for land to start a ranch near the fledgling town of Prescott, Arizona, he fell in with two men who robbed a bank with a confederate. Although on a scouting expedition at the time, Ron was named as the third man just before the two convicts were hanged. Tired of running, he knows he must return to Prescott to clear his name. On the stage journey he meets the beautiful Christine Mayberry, travelling from Ohio to discover why her prospector father disappeared from the town without a trace nine years ago.
