At the end of her holiday in Cornwall, Eleanor Sands intended to to go to London to find a job. But a chance encounter, and missing the London train, changed all that. Not only did she find a job in Cornwall, but she was also thrown into close proximity with the children's uncle, the well-known detective novelist Paul Valentine. However, for Eleanor, the situation in the little cottage grew increasingly difficult when she began to find Paul disturbingly attractive.
