Sally-Anne McAllister, driven by a traumatic experience into espousing the women's movement, had decided to write articles about the hard life of women in the East End of London. But to do that she felt she should have first hand experience. By denying her background, and spinning a long line of 'whoppers', she was employed by Dr. Neil Cochrane.
