Was Kathie Ebberts imagining things, or had there been a pause in the conversation at the bon voyage party when she mentioned the name of her late uncle, Job Hammer? Suspicion at Sea…

It only took a glance to tell Kathie that her suitcases had been opened and hastily searched. One latch was unfastened and a triangle of pink protruded from her wardrobe case.

Shocked and badly frightened, she knelt down and began a quick inventory. In a few moments, she sat back on her heels, baffled. As far as she could tell, nothing was missing.

What had the thief been after? Her traveler's checks were in her purse which she had taken up on deck with her. So was Uncle Job's old deed…

Kathie's eyes widened. Was it possible the thief had been looking for the deed…?
