Seventh grade is going to take some getting used to. The halls of the big middle school are super-crowded, the eighth-grade boys are super-mean, and the unspoken rules are completely baffling. Agnes is grateful to have her best friend Prejean by her side. She plans to stay invisible and just observe while Prejean makes the bold move of running for class president. But, oops, how can she do that when Prejean expects her to be the campaign manager?

And then there's the problem of Aram, the smart and funny -- but weird -- boy in Agnes's art class. She feels more comfortable with him than with almost any of the other kids in school. So why does his attention make her this uncomfortable?

From the first month of classes to the first school dance, Agnes's life as a seventh grader is an exciting, sometimes embarrassing, always amusing mix.
