Her parents had sent it and not only did she learn they were alive; but that they had a potential husband for her and he would be waiting on their estate. She embarks on the days-long journey across the country and there she meets Mark, who is everything she'd want in a husband, if only she wasn't already promised to another. She knows that she may not survive the journey to San Francisco without falling in love with the handsome man who is rapidly winning her heart. Mail Order Bride: Maggie Falls Into Marriage is about an independent Victorian woman who travels from London to New York, in order to get a business degree and run her father's business back in the old country. She falls sick and is advised by a doctor to take a semester off from the university and recuperate in California. As she gets off the train she faints, and literally falls into Tom's arms. She finds out later why he just happened to be at the train station at that very moment in time.
