Visiting his unhappy childhood home in Ireland, Ross Ferris finds bitter memories still too fresh, so he seeks, instead, the lively company of his cousins at Killorglin, site of the Puck Fair. There, a chance encounter with the charismatic pedlar Rosin, shatters his peace of mind.
