Marina Karansky had such a voice, as did Paolo Cortelli. The duets they sang transcended artifice and spoke directly to the heart.

But Paolo lived well, and the chances he took would one day destroy his voice. Marina had to ask herself the question: If he were willing to cheat on the art that was his living, might he not also cheat on the love that was her very life?
