On July 3, 1776, 427 ships loaded with 34,000 British and Hessian troops sailed into New York Harbor to confront the Continental Army commanded by General George Washington. In launching the largest invasion force in its history, Britain was determined to end the rebellion of the Thirteen Colonies by one massive, overwhelming blow. A Thunder of Drums: New York, 1776 tells the story of the campaign that almost cost America her independence. The story is told from the point of view of the British, Hessians and Americans; men, women and children. Many of the characters are from the novel The Hill, published in 2005 by PublishAmerica. A Thunder of Drums is the second installment in a planned trilogy of the men and women of the American Revolution. The final novel of the trilogy, World Upside Down: Yorktown, 1781, is in progress.
