On July 3, 1776, 427 ships loaded with 34,000 British and Hessian troops sailed into New York Harbor to confront the Continental Army commanded by General George Washington. The story is told from the point of view of the British, Hessians and Americans; men, women and children. Many of the characters are from the novel The Hill, published in 2005 by PublishAmerica. A Thunder of Drums is the second installment in a planned trilogy of the men and women of the American Revolution. The final novel of the trilogy, World Upside Down: Yorktown, 1781, is in progress.
