"Someone is in the attic!" Moira hissed

Both women looked up the stairs in terror. Strange noises clearly resounded in the room. Instinctively Moira reached for Louise's hand but her eyes remained fixed on the huge man who was slowly descending the stairs, a revolver in his hand.

Who are you?" Moira cried shrilly, summoning her courage.

His eyes raked over her as he advanced on them menacingly. "You're going to forget you ever saw me, " he said. "Because if you talk, I talk. And believe me, I know enough to destroy this house and everybody in it!"
