A Rebel's Eye — Charles Bowen

Broken in battle, a Confederate soldier has nothing left in his gut but burning revenge. Blue Bellies defeated his state's army, they burned his sharecropping home and they defiled and murdered his wife. At war's end, he treks northward with the goal of delivering like vengeance on the wife of a union officer he'd killed in battle. Along the way, the defeated soldier finds perspective in a good luck charm that oversees his quest and brings him to an instantaneous but critical epiphany.
