A Play follows Richard, a struggling playwright, as he tries to churn out his next play after recently writing a successful piece about the death of his brother. However it's all easier said than done. His much older girlfriend Genevieve, a successful actress, is fearing the end of her career and his housemate Olivier, a young up and coming actress clashes with Genevieve viciously. As Richard's frustration builds and the actors in his imagination pressure him to come up with something, another of his housemates, Polly, has a surprise in store. With strong references to Chekhov's The Seagull and Beckett's Waiting for Godot, A Play features a large cast of both real and imagined characters and examines the borders between life and art. www.davidscott.ie
