~~Third in series~~This is the third of a three-book series about people during the Revolutionary War in the South. The story is based on multiple factional events with fictional characters. This book begins with the birth of a boy, Alexander, aboard his father's ship. He grows into manhood under the guidance of his father and four mismatched “mothers,” becomes a captain, a businessman, a pirate and then a privateer for the Continental Congress. In the process, Alex falls in love and marries into a large family. He also provides funding for the startup of multiple business for immigrants to our new nation. Along the way, he has close encounters with the British along with watching the antics of his crewmembers and his new wife. His is not the only love story in this book. There was very little historical information available about pirates and spies during this era, so this book is more fictional than historical.
