Ironically enough, Gail Shannon is very good at her job as guidance counselor at a rehabilitation center. She can help other people solve the mental and emotional or work problems that sometimes crop up as the result of an inborn handicap or an accidental injury.
Yet when it comes to solving her own problems, Gail is totally helpless. She cannot forgive herself for going unharmed in an auto accident that hurt her best friend. So, though she knows better, Gail lets her troubled past cloud her whole future. And neither Don Masters, her slick, attractive supervisor--who very definitely has a personal interest in her--nor Mike Richards, her unpredictable, fascinating pal, can jolt her back into life.
But then a miracle happens...
