A Different Kind of Courage — Nancy Cole

In an effort to pick up the pieces of his life Andy Newly goes back the to college he left and the restaurant worked at, to where he came to realize that though born a male he has the heart and the spirit of a female. Only when he accepts this is Andy able to begin the daunting task of gathering up the threads of his life by building a new one for him self, this time as a female named Amanda. Along the way Amanda struggles to find a way of dealing with a host of problems that are as confusing as they are complex. She must also come to terms with her past. Helping Amanda find her way forward is a small circle of both old and new friends. This is complicated by Amanda's friendship with Tina Anderson, the only daughter of a wealthy entrepreneur and a young engineer who finds he is as attracted to Amanda as she is to him. Amanda's quest for a new life turns into a deadly game when she is drawn into an attempt to kidnap Tina.
