You know those cute faery tales told to you when you were young? Well, they aren't real. There's nothing cute or quaint or charming about faeries. They are sinister, malevolent and unkind. I should know. My mother is one. And she abandoned me at the age of ten to be raised by my human father. I love my father fiercely but it's hard taking care of him, because he's frail and slowly losing his mind. That's the result of being fae-struck, and the reason I've never gotten close to any one man.
