Glendenfield was a gemstone shining out of the New Zealand volcanic wasteland, the home of wealthy eccentric Radcliffe Bernard. Julie was invited there by Ivy Richmond, an ailing houseguest. Ivy had plans for Julie's future which included her unsuspecting son Owen.
