Dig a Little Deeper — Ursula Curtiss

Lydia goes back to Connecticut for her cousin's wedding and has promised a friend that, while there, she will deliver a present to a Paula Blake who apparently lives down the road.

But her visit to the Blake's turns out to be vaguely unpleasant and, when an old lady suddenly dies, the tranquil country atmosphere takes on a subtle menacing edge and Lydia is uneasily surrounded by a mist of mystery.
