Evan's friends are amazed at the scientific information they are hearing. He shows clearly how man and dinosaurs walked together just as the bible supports. Dr. Hope's teachings help them understand things they have learned in their science classes that never seemed to make sense before. All they are learning, along with the pleasure of roasting marshmallow, sleeping, and hiking in the great outdoors, draws them closer to God, and closer to the truths in the creation story.
Throughout the story, Evan daydreams of what the first dinosaur (the great Behemoth) might have experienced during the time of creation. In spite of all the nature and fellowship surrounding him, Evan gets lost in his daydream. He feels as if he is there, on the sidelines with the angels, to witness the fabulous harmony and excitement as God miraculously speaks each pair of animals into existence. He imagines how Adam named the animals (including the dinosaurs), reacted to his new mate, and walked and talked with God in the garden.
