The judge, however, saw things differently.
Condemned to three years hard labor, Cloud was sent to serve his sentence as solitary keeper on the isolated island of Coldhazard Rock. But a deadly gang of killers hit the local lumber town's pay office and carried off hostages as well as the money.
Leaving the town a wreck behind them, the gang headed out on their planned getaway, but the seas were running high along the earthquake-prone coastline, and there was a vicious storm brewing on the horizon.
Trapped on the island, Cloud finds himself defending a small group of fugitives and involved in a bloody fight to the death against everything both man and nature can throw at him.

Tony is an internationally known Illustrator, who is best known for the Western covers he created for the two best-selling and long running Western series for George G Gilman's Edge and Steele characters, where he painted most of the covers for the European market. After a successful career in Illustration he turned to writing and now often uses his earlier skills to create the design and artwork for his own book jackets. During a long career his artwork has fronted many popular books in different genres but his love of Westerns arose out of the research necessary to complete his artwork and in the same way he often creates his novels around some elements of historical fact.
